At the time of registration, international students will have to purchase Comprehensive Insurance at the COE or offer valid medical insurance purchased in China. Those who will study at YZU for more than one year must purchase Comprehensive Insurance annually, and those who will study at YZU less than one year have to purchase it based on their period of stay at YZU. Before insurance expires, students should purchase the insurance by themselves according to Online Payment Instruction and submit the payment proof to COE before one applies for the extension of visa or residence permit. For students with no medical insurance, the university will not handle the registration procedures.

The Comprehensive Insurance for International Students includes insurances for medical treatments of accidental injuries, hospitalization, accidental disability and death. Only public hospitals on the mainland of the People’s Republic of China are applicable for this insurance.

Expenses for dental prosthetics, dental filling, tooth extraction, glasses, childbirth, abortion, STD, physiological defect correction, cosmetology, nourishment and any other fees outside the coverage of the free medical service, as well as the expenses for treating chronic disease contracted prior to the students’ arrival in China shall be covered by students themselves. Medical expenses incurred as a result of students’ criminal or disciplinary offenses such as physical fights, assaults and violation of traffic regulations shall be covered by the offenders themselves.
