For international students who cannot finish the study in the prescribed period due to personal reasons, he or she will submit a written application. Furthermore, undergraduate students should fill in the “Application Form for International Undergraduate Students to Extend the Study Period in Yangzhou University” while postgraduate students fill in the “Application Form for International Postgraduate Students to Extend the Study Period in Yangzhou University”. After being approved, students then can extend their study period .

The length of schooling for undergraduate students (including suspension) is no more than 8 years (for five-year program , the total study period is no more than 9 years; for six-year program, the total study period is no more than 10 years). The length of schooling for master students is no more than 5 years (including suspension). The length of schooling for doctoral students is no more than 8 years (including suspension). The time international students spent in studying Chinese is excluded in the years of professional study. If the period of study exceeds the scholarship sponsoring time, scholarship students shall pay at their own expenses. The application for extension of study is only open two weeks before the end of each semester.
