Spring Festival Gala (Jan/Feb)

The Spring Festival, the Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation. In thousands of years of historical development, some spring festival customs have been formed, such as sweeping dust, pasting Spring Festival couplets, window flowers or upside down “Fu” characters （“Fu”means fortune in Chinese), setting off firecrackers, sending New Year's greetings and so on.

Before the eve of the Spring Festival, the University organizes cultural and folk experience activities such as New Year's Eve dinner or Spring Festival Gala for on-campus students.

Winter Vacation Activities (Jan/Feb)

For every winter vacation, online and offline activities are organized for students to enjoy holidays, such as online lectures by experts, experience sharing of outstanding students, off-campus visits, etc, which greatly enrich their after-school life.

Cultural Expo (April/May)

Cultural Expo is a flagship activity for international students in our school. There will be dazzling costumes from different countries and exotic food that wins your praise. Here, international students meet in this platform to provide a grand cultural feast.

Dragon-Boat Festival Cultural-experience Activity (June)

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals and has been listed on the World Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Every year before the Dragon Boat Festival, the school will set up "Dragon Boat Festival" cultural-experience class, introduce the related culture and folk customs and also carry out activities to teach students how to make “Zongzi”( glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, one of the traditional food in the Festival).

Symposium for Graduates (June)

The graduate symposium held in June every year is not only a farewell meeting for graduates to recall their experiences, send wishes and deliver gratitude to their Alma mater, but also a meeting for university leaders, faculty members and staff to express their good wishes to the graduates, and a meeting for heads of competent departments to listen to graduates' feedback and suggestions for the school’s development.

Summer Vacation Activities (July/Aug)

To enrich the summer life of international students, the University organizes various activities, such as lectures, movie week, apartment work-experience day, cooking competition, talent show and so on.

Broad-vision Lecture

In Broad-vision Lecture, it builds an academic and scientific research exchange platform which invites experts from both inside and outside the university to give lectures on academic frontiers, and gathers senior doctoral students to impart experience on scientific research practice, so as to inspire, guide and lead international students.

Opening Ceremony (Sep/Oct)

For autumn semester, the University holds a grand opening ceremony for international students after which, it conducts orientation for freshmen to help them fully understand China, Yangzhou city and YZU and have a basic knowledge of, laws and regulations, school rules and disciplines.

Sports Meeting (Oct/Nov)

The annual school sports meeting aims to promote the development of mass-sports activities in schools. At the opening ceremony, international students wear traditional ethnic costumes and wave the Chinese five-star national flag and their home country’s national flags to show diversity of culture. International student athletes participate in different sports to present their splendor.

Winter Campus Safety Rally（Nov/Dec)

Every year, the University organizes the Winter Campus Safety Rally, which aims to help international students master the knowledge of preventing and coping with dangerous situations on campus, strengthen their awareness of safety and self-rescue skills, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of “safe campus”.

New Year Gala (Dec/Jan)

Chinese and foreign students gather at the New Year Gala to celebrate the advent of a new year in wonderful performances.
