2018 “Cuori Cup” The 2nd International Student Fashion Design Competition was held in Donghua University (DHU) on April 26, 2018. Indian student Suryakumari Chandaka from College of Overseas Education of YZU won the Third Prize, standing out from over 30 contestants, and Yangzhou University won the Outstanding Organization Prize.

Most of the designers’ clothes integrates the Silk Road clothing resources and mined the contents of major science and technology, art archeology, world cultural heritage, folk culture, Silk Road literature and fashion trends that cover lots of Silk Road areas. The international students from 18 universities and 21 countries actively participated in this competition. The whole Fashion Design Competition reflects an interpretation of splendid country cultures from the perspectives of all contestants through their fashion designs.

Inspired by Indian traditional female clothes Sari and Chinese fashion elements, Suryakumari Chandaka’s work has its unique design style, allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to appreciate the charm of cultural fusion. Her work interprets the blend of ethnicity and fashion, nature and spirit, tradition and quality as well.
