The event “Perception of China ---Yangzhou, what a marvelous place” sponsored by China Scholarship Council and held by Yangzhou University was carried out successfully. 36 international students from 10 countries including Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Yemen and Benin participated.

Such social practice and cultural-experience event is a call to the thorough implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply letter to international students from Peking University. Through this activity, international students grasped a better understanding of ecological protection and cultural inheritance and innovation along the Grand Canal, witnessed the important history of the Grand Canal which benefited people, and deeply experienced the strength and effectiveness of China’s ecological civilization construction, thus to facilitate them in understanding China’s national conditions and Chinese culture, telling China’s stories and making China’s voice heard.
