The "Perception of China, Ecological Yangzhou" experience-sharing forum was unveiled on November 16th. Distinguished Guests, Madam Deng Qing, the Secretary General of World Historic and Cultural Canal Cities Cooperation Organization, Prof. Dai Shiyong, the Deputy Director of Publicity Department of Yangzhou University, Prof. Liu Siwen, the Deputy Secretary of Chinese Communist Youth League Committee of Yangzhou University and Prof. Liu Jia, the Director of Research Center of China’s Rural Education of Yangzhou University were invited to attend the event. Madam Deng Qing keynoted the forum under the theme of “Enhancing Exchanges and Mutual Learning, Striving to be Young Guards of Canals”. Prof. Dai Shiyong, Prof. Liu Siwen and Prof. Liu Jia made remarks on presentations from 6 groups of students. They encourage the international students to dive deeper into the Chinese culture through observation and practice, experience Chinese wisdom and Chinese approach from a multidimensional perspective, and find a more flexible path for the development of their country. Prof. Zhang Yin, Dean of College for Overseas Education, made a summary speech. She encouraged students to make the best of studying in China, share China's stories, spread China's voices, and build a community of shared future for mankind in a synergic manner.
“Perception of China”is a flagship cultural exchange activity sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC). This year, the University featured the activity with the theme of the Grand Canal. Through field visits, group research and sharing session, the activity effectively fostered CSC students' understanding and cognition towards Chinese society, economy, culture and ecological civilization, and enhanced the education of China’s national conditions for international students.
