On May 18th, Yangzhou University launched its Sixth International Culture Festival with an opening ceremony at the South Square of the Sports and Arts Center on its Yangzijin Campus. The event was attended by Vice President Cai Yingwei, along with over a thousand participants including Chinese and international students, alumni, and representatives from government, business, and social organizations.

Addressing the audience, President Cai encouraged students to use the festival to celebrate diversity and advance cross-cultural exchange. He voiced his hope that this would foster a true spirit of coexistence—deepening global understanding, appreciating differences, and inspiring everyone to see the world and chase their dreams through these shared experiences

At the event, Gong Junjie, Director of the University President's Office, presented awards to the 2025 Yangjie Scholarship recipients. The ceremony also featured performances by international students, including Chinese Kung Fu, lion dances, traditional dances, and a fashion show of costumes from around the world.

Following the opening ceremony, student teams from 23 countries set up creative booths showcasing their cultural heritage. Popular attractions included Russian nesting doll painting, Indian henna art, African warrior dance photo opportunities, Chinese-style creative products, Yemeni Arabic calligraphy, Korean cuisine, and Thai tea tasting. Information zones on "Digital RMB" and financial fraud prevention, hosted by major Chinese banks, also drew significant interest from students and faculty.

The opening ceremony was also attended by officials from various Yangzhou municipal departments, leaders from partner organizations and corporations, as well as university deans and directors.
