Ltd. set the Yakai scholarship of science and technology innovation. Jiangsu Yakai Electric Co. Ltd. is a regional leader in electric switch-gear system manufacturing and sales. For the past 10 years, Yakai is closely engaged in B&R projects and delivers high quality and cost-effective electric power equipment to the global community.

Background

Global development has been heavily reliant on the over-exploitation of natural resources since the Industrial Revolution. With the extensive use of fossil fuels, deforestation, and other forms of land-use change, anthropogenic activities have contributed to the ever-increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere, causing global climate change. Electrical energy as the modern form of energy utilization is the driving force for industrialization and life quality. Enjoying energy intensive goods while achieving carbon neutralization and sustainable development is the common goal for our human community.

Requirements

1. The report shall never be submitted to similar activities before. The content should be objective, factual with no disinformation, misinformation or plagiarism. The report is suggested to include three parts, (1) General introduction to electrical energy production and consumption in your country or region, (2) Difficulties in achieving energy sustainability and carbon neutralization and feasible solutions and strategies as how to achieve, (3) On-going or future infrastructure development as related to transportation, industrial parks, or electrical power/renewable energy generation etc. has to be included as the case study.

2. No limit to the length of the report. You can put it either in English or Chinese. If it is in Chinese, the recommended font format is Song, font size 4 and 1.5-spaced. If in English, the recommended font format is Times New Roman, font size 14 and 1.5-spaced.

3. Team work is highly recommended (with 4-5 people a team). Make sure all the team members are YZU international students.

1. From 11th April to 30th April

Please submit your work to 007564@yzu.edu.cn before 30th April as an email attachment with the name in the following format: leader’s name of your team+student number+ nationality. Remember to tag your email subject as REPORTS WANTED.

2. From 1st May to 31st May

The University will organize experts to evaluate all the reports and announce the result. Prizes will be awarded later.

Awards

Tier 1 for one group, with prize of 1,500 RMB;

Tier 2 for three groups, with prize of 1,000 RMB;

Tier 3 for five groups, with prize of 500 RMB each.

There will also be rewards for the faculty supervisors.

＊Awards may be adjusted according to the number of participants and the quality of works, and the final interpretation right belongs to College for Overseas Education of Yangzhou University.
