魏国大臣庞葱将要陪同太子前往赵国。

    魏王回答：“我不相信。”

    魏王说：”我会有些怀疑。”

    庞葱接着说：“如果有第三个人说街上有一只老虎，大王相信吗？”

    魏王回答：“我当然会相信。”

    庞葱说：“很明显，街上不会有老虎，可是经过三个人的传播，街上好像真的有一只老虎了。现在赵国都城和魏国都城的距离，要比王宫离街的距离远很多，反对我的人不止三个，希望大王可以相信我。”

    魏王说：“我明白，你就放心去吧！”

    果然，庞葱刚陪着太子离开，就有人在魏王面前诬陷他。刚开始时，魏王还会为庞葱辩解，但是，诬陷庞葱的人多了，魏王竟然相信他们。等庞葱和太子回来后，魏王再也没有召见过他 。
