Yangzhou University held Training Program of 2018 China-Africa Universities 20+20 Project From December 15 to 24, 2018, Yangzhou University held the China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Program - 2018 Yangzhou University & Khartoum University High-level Talent Training Program, which is initiated by the Ministry of Education, China.
On the morning of December 18, Chen Guohong, Vice President of Yangzhou University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. In his speech, he said that the China-Africa 20+20 Project had set up a platform for Yangzhou University to establish close and pragmatic cooperation with many Sudanese universities including Khartoum University. He hoped that the Sudanese experts and scholars would take the opportunity of training to increase their professional skills, enhance their understanding of China, and strive to be the messenger of China–Sudan friendly exchanges. Mohamed Hassan Dahab, Director of General Directoral of Training and Capacity Building, Ministry of Higher Education, Sudan, also gave a speech. He thanked Yangzhou University for hosting the training program for 9 years, and said that the Sudanese experts and scholars were willing to improve their own ability through this training program and to play an active role in China–Sudan relations.
After the opening ceremony, Chen Guohong met with Mohamed Hassan Dahab, Samir Mohamed Hassan Shaheen, Director of Academic Secretary Affairs, University of Khartoum and Hassan, Director of Chinese Affairs, University of Khartoum and Yangzhou University alumni. The two sides exchanged views on further cooperation in human resources training, academic education, joint research and country studies. Members from the Science and Technology Division, the Humanities and Social Sciences Division, the Sudan Research Center and College for Overseas Education attended the meeting.
This year, a total of 148 experts and scholars from more than 30 colleges and universities in Sudan came to Yangzhou University for training. During the training period, the Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, College of Information Engineering, College of Civil Science and Engineering, Medical College and College of Nursing arranged academic seminars, professional trainings and visiting for Sudanese experts and scholars.
