China-Sudan Modern Agriculture and Engineering Training Program held at YZU From November 27 to December 9, 2017 China-Sudan Modern Agriculture and Engineering Training Program was successfully held at Yangzhou University.
On November 27 morning, the opening ceremony was held in Hehuachi Campus. Vice President Chen Guohong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Prof. Chen spoke highly of fruitful achievements that have been produced between Yangzhou University and universities in Sudan in recent years under the guidance of China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Project and encouraged Sudanese participants to make full use of this opportunity to upgrade professional knowledge and explore the unique charm of Chinese culture. Prof. Yang Zefeng from Agricultural College at YZU and Dr. Dina from University of Khartoum gave speeches respectively on behalf of lecturers and participants. Representatives from Office of Science and Technology, Office of Humanities and Social Sciences, International Office, College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Hydraulic Energy and Power Engineering, Agricultural College, College of Animal Science and Technology, College of Veterinary Medicine, International Joint Laboratory, Sudan Research Institute and College for Overseas Education, lecturers, Chinese and Sudanese volunteers also participated in the ceremony.
About one hundred faculty and staff from universities in Sudan including University of Khartoum received professional training and visited local enterprises during the training session in such fields as Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, Power Engineering, Agriculture, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
This training program, together with China-Sudan Agriculture and Engineering Seminars, is a part of 2017 China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Project. Since 2010 when Yangzhou University and University of Khartoum were chosen as project’s cooperative universities, over ten training programs have been successfully held and about 400 professional personnel from universities in Sudan have received training.
