China-Sudan Modern Agriculture and Engineering Seminars Were Held From Nov. 19 to Nov. 23, China-Sudan Modern Agriculture and Engineering Seminars and the Training Program for Senior Administrative People of Sudanese Universities were held at Yangzhou University. 53 experts and scholars from Sudanese universities including University of Khartoum participated in this event.
On Nov. 20 morning, the opening ceremony of seminars and the training program was held in the conference hall in Agricultural College. Vice President Yu Hongliang attended and addressed a welcome speech on behalf of Yangzhou University. Representative of Ministry of Higher Education of Sudan, Academic Secretary Affairs of University of Khartoum Adil Ali Elhussein Hamad delivered a speech. Representatives of College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Hydraulic Energy and Power Engineering, Agricultural College, College of Animal Science and Technology, College of Veterinary Medicine and College for Overseas Education, faculties and Sudanese students also attended the ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, Vice President Yu met with Academic Secretary Affairs Adil and Principal of University of Khartoum Yasir, China Affairs expert and YZU alumnus Hassan. The two sides exchanged ideas on mutual cooperation in human resource training, degree education, joint scientific research and country studies. Representatives of Technology Office, Humanities and Social Sciences Office, International Office, International Joint Laboratory, Sudan Research Institute, College for Overseas Education also attended.
During the seminar, Sudanese experts and scholars conducted academic exchanges with faculties and students from College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Hydraulic Energy and Power Engineering, Agricultural College, College of Animal Science and Technology and College of Veterinary Medicine.
On Nov. 21 morning, Vice President Yu gave a lecture on the Effective Leadership in Chinese universities to senior administrative people of Sudanese universities, which covered administration, management, leadership and operational mechanism and was highly praised.
The seminar and the training program are a part of 2017 China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Project. Since 2010 when Yangzhou University and University of Khartoum were chose as sister universities by the Chinese ministry of education, 8 seminars and 2 training programs have been held and about 200 experts, scholars and senior administrative people have attended.
