China-Africa Young Scholars Forum on Agricultural Development was held by Yangzhou University
The 2024 China-Africa Universities 20+20 Project—China-Africa Young Scholars Forum on Agricultural Development was held by Yangzhou University from October 17th to 19th, 2024. Vice President Han Jie attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Han Jie noted that this year marks the 24th anniversary of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, strengthening the ties between China and Africa and the thriving agricultural cooperation with continuous achievements emerging. He encouraged the young scholars to engage in exchanges and collisions of ideas and to play a proactive role in building the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
Professor Xu Xiulong from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Professor Miao Shanshan from the Research Institute of Central Jiangsu Development delivered keynote lectures. Participants engaged in discussions and shared insights on the according themes. A visit to Guiren Orchard Farm in Yangzhou, Yechun Teahouse Production Base, and Yanhu Village is also organized for young scholars.
This forum was co-organized with China Agricultural University and Nanjing Agricultural University. It is one of the annual series of activities under the Ministry of Education's China-Africa Universities 20+20 Project. Over 30 young scholars from 14 African countries, including Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, and Malawi, participated in the event.
